• N-butyl acetate / n-BAC is a colorless, transparent liquid with a medium evaporation rate and a characteristic ester odor.
• It dissolves all organic solvents such as alcohols, ketones, aldehydes, ethers, glycol ethers, and aliphatic hydrocarbons, but is slightly soluble in water.
• N-butyl acetate / n-BAC can also dissolve cellulose nitrate, polymers, resins, and oils. It is an important solvent in the paint, leather, paper, and chemical industries.

• N-butyl acetate / n-BAC is a key solvent in the paint industry due to its excellent ability to dissolve cellulose nitrate, resins, polymers, oils, and fats.
• Its evaporation rate is ideal for applications requiring controlled drying, preventing paint blushing and orange peel effects, resulting in smooth and glossy coatings.
• In this application, n-BAC is often used together with n-butanol, which enhances anti-blushing properties, improves solubility, and reduces solution viscosity.
• N-butyl acetate should not be added to coatings containing free OH groups, such as urethane paints.
• N-butyl acetate / n-BAC is also widely used as an extraction agent in pharmaceutical formulations, a component in cleaning agents, and a fragrance ingredient due to its low water absorption, hydrolysis resistance, and excellent solubility.
